My home studio has been closed this month as I renovate it, and on Sunday my nephew Alex came over for a playdate in the freshly painted space. Like most 2 year olds, Alex didn't want to sit still for long. What started out as colouring time quickly led to playing with marbles, having a picnic, doing puzzles, mixing up some concrete and strawberries, reading, playing seahorses, and drumming on pillows.
Alex also played fetch with Rosie in the living room and, after she gave him a big kiss on his face (his first time being licked by a dog), we discovered he is allergic to her saliva. After telling Alex that Rosie needed a nap, I put her in my bedroom for the rest of the visit. Alex, the sweetie that he is, kept asking where she was and bringing me her toys so we could play when she woke up. Aww! He told me he loves her and I really want them to be friends so now I have to train my slobbery bulldog to not lick him... that shouldn't be difficult at all ;)
